We had a great knitting group yesterday at David and Jane's fabulous cottage. As you can see, other important events also take place....tea and cakes and non-stop chat! We sat cosily inside on a very dark, blustery and wet day -but who cares? Some of us even did a bit of knitting - but much of the time was spent discussing our forthcoming Christmas activities, including the Secret Santa Sack!!!

Wow! What a tea we had yesterday! The food was out of this world. We sat by the window, watching the sunset over Hyde Park. Then, as we left the hotel, we saw Terry Wogan getting into his car!! What a thrill is that! I seem to have spent a lot of the past week out, eating with my niece and daughter...I've spared you the pictures of the curry-eating sessions with my husband!!

Spent a happy hour, sitting in the sun and spinning last weekend. I always find spinning so relaxing, especially when sipping wine and listening to the birds singing! I'm off to London today to indulge in a luxurious cream tea at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane!! This is a birthday present for me........yum.......
Here is the felt that was simmering yesterday. I am thrilled the colour - just what I wanted. I am also pleased with the way the edges formed after I washed it all in the washing machine. I am sure there is a future in this....I think I could even wrap it around myself on a night out! I am still wondering whether I should invest in an embellisher. I think it could give me a new direction in my fibre creations!! I'll keep thinking...but for now...I'm whizzing off to Brighton for some more tuition on my Mac. I want to organise my music library properly so that I can plug my earphones into my I-pod and be transported to another place!! The sun is shining brightly again today..what wonderful weather for November! The birds are singing outside as though it's spring!

Spent a couple of hours playing yesterday, and joined felt to knit...the results are interesting. At this stage I'm not sure which direction to go in. I shall keep on adding to it..and see what happens. I did enjoy myself though...and at the same time I had some felt simmering in a pot. More of that later.....

I'm taking up the challenge to pick a bunch of flowers every week of the year from gardens, hedgerows etc. I enjoyed the first week and this is my offering. As I walked through the woods it really made me look, and realise that there's always something beautiful out there - even in November. Wonder what December and January will bring??

It seems a long time since I showed images of some of my felted knit bags. Although they have all now been sold, I do get a regular visit from the one at the top because he belongs to my friend Leslie, who is one of our knitting group. Apparently she gets loads of comments about the bag, and she always spins a yarn (!!) that it is very exclusive etc. etc! I doubt she is believed!
So many thoughts and ideas for the coming winter months. One of these is to make more use of my art scribbles and somehow link these up with colours and designs. I think the words on the sketchbook page are quite appropriate for me..."on the go"....my brain never stops whirring!! I am completely out of stock now of my felted knit bags. I'm a bit sad because I get to know them, and when they've gone I feel slightly bereft!! Must get working again for next year...in the meantime I'm off to the Guild of Spinners, Weavers and Dyers' Christmas Party!

.....and here is the Cup Cake Cafe in Covent Garden Market. It was like magic to peer through the window and see all the fabulous colours. I can't wait to take my girls...they will love it! Meanwhile I feel inspired to get the paints out - I love the soft green colour. The trouble is, I paint lots of papers and then get stuck .... what do I do with them all?
Had to go to London yesterday so we couldn't resist going to Neal's Yard in Covent Garden (where we used to live). I was blown away by the fabulous coloured buildings! What a difference paint makes. Why don't we have the courage to use colour more often? My senses were really stimulated...sounds, smells and of course sights. More to follow....
