Continuing my 'red' theme....not quite sure why these sunflowers turned out like this....must be something deeply subconscious going on!! Anyway, today I plan to do some patchwork and see if I receive any amazing inspiration! It's a lovely day, so I may also do a bit of fabric dyeing..

I'm preparing fabrics to do sone patchwork during the winter. It's interesting to note how the differing seasons affect me....I'm quite sure I would never choose scarlet in the spring...but red in the darkest days of winter is scrumptious!

I couldn't resist buying this gorgeous indian fabric in Brighton the other day. It's a really soft cotton...I've no idea what I am going to do with it...but I love looking at it and I'm sure it will give me some inspiration. I haven't been too well the last few days, hence no blogs. I am off to the doctors this morning in the hope of finding a miracle cure! I have managed to do some knitting though and made a pair of gloves for a lady who bought a bag the other day, and wanted gloves to match!! I don't usually take on any commissions because people have very definite ideas about what they want, and I like the freedom to do my own thing!!

Continuing my love affair with roses....These beauties have served me well for the last week. They were bought at the local supermarket and I'm always pleasantly surprised at their quality. The auto painter app I have on my I-pod is great!!

Amongst other things I want to explore more ways of combining patchwork and felted knit. I know that both are very time consuming, but they are my favourite mediums...so I'll see where they lead me!

My friend goes home to Italy today - I shall miss her. We have had a great week focussed on chat, textiles and curries!! This is a photo I took of her when I was over in Italy during the summer. We have agreed to (try to) keep focussed during the winter months and continue creating.....

I find this picture of my daily dog walk reinforces my reflective mood. Where is the pathway leading to? Where do I now travel on my own journey? Ever since I was a child I have been drawn to the notion of a country path...never knowing what is around the corner. Like life really....never knowing what comes next......Winter is now approaching, so my creativity changes track as I am not too keen on staying outside in the freezing cold with my dyepots!! Watch this space...
