I've had two fabulous walks this weekend and I'm continually thankful to live in such a lovely part of the world. When I'm out walking it not only energises me but also clears my head and gives me thinking space.  When I got back home, I sorted out my "shop at home"... so more of that later.  I have gathered up quite of lot of things that aren't quite finished, so this week my aim is to finish all the left overs, put things on to my Etsy shop, and  next week I shall be able to start again! I enjoyed going to the British Tapestry Weavers Exhibition yesterday.  The venue (a renovated windmill) was absolutely stunning, giving far reaching views over the South Downs and the sea.  The work was brilliant and here are two of my favourite pieces by Hilary Charlesworth and Jackie Bennett.  The pictures below them are some of my own meanderings on the loom.  I love the process of weaving but am never so sure of the results!!

It felt so good to get some creative time yesterday and, amongst other things, I tried out a slightly different method of dyeing felt.  I am really pleased with the results and to be honest I don't think the photos do them justice.  I thought I'd sell the rolls at £4.75 each.(They're approx. l metre wide x 13") What do you think?  Today I'm off to the weaving exhibition .  The sun is shining, so a good walk on the downs with the dogs first...then coffee and cream cake...then exhibition (if I've got the energy!)

Bad news about the I-pod.  Stupid me had cancelled the insurance standing order (thinking it was referring to an old camera).  So I now have to take the I-pod to the Apple Store to see if it can be repaired!! Maybe it's a good discipline for me because I am now going to have to use my camera - which actually takes better pictures - but takes more effort!!.  Here are some photos I took last night of some ongoing work.  Life is beginning to get back to some sort of order again - so today I plan to finish off lots of domestic stuff..and then, hopefully, I can start to be creative again.  Tomorrow I am planning to go to a tapestry weaving exhibition in West Sussex Have you ever seen the weaving of Maximo Laura?  He is a South  American weaver, and his colours are out of this world.  Take a look at his website. 

My I-pod has died....it has developed a huge black circle on the screen.  I've absolutely no idea what it is, but luckily yesterday I found all my receipts etc....and also, I hadn't realised but I took out a "whatever happens" insurance policy.  Presumably I shan't have to pay anything for a repair/new one.  I use my I-pod to take most of my photos as I find it so user friendly! I love the flower in this picture.  I took the photo (on my I-pod) at a Lebanese restaurant in Teneriffe...I love to remember those warm, relaxing days....By the way did you see , on BBC news, pictures of a brown bear wandering around a school in California?  When I first saw the news clip, I joked that it was probably the school in the U.S where our kids went to school for a while.  Blow me down....it was.........!!!

Memories of summer and tea in the garden (10 days ago).  Now back to winter woolies, heating and fires. at least we never get bored in England!!  By the end of today all visitors will have returned home  - I shall need to spend the next day or so returning the house to some sort of normality.  I've no idea what the boys were doing last night.  I looked in to their room to say good night.  There was a sea of paper, pencils etc etc. covering the floor.  They said all would be revealed in the morning....I am waiting with baited breath!!  I'm also looking forward to getting back some creative space in my head.  It seems to have deserted me recently!  Have a good day x

I realise that my creative moods are really affected by my environment and the weather.  Yesterday was a really bad weather day - cold, wet, windy and freezing.  Not my favourite!!  In the afternoon we got the paints out ... the boys (who are here for a couple of days) really got into it - paint everywhere.  I joined their enthusiasm.  So, today you are being treated to some work that I did a few weeks ago.  This morning the sun is again shining...so hopefully a better day!
