I'm back.....and we're in!!  I love my little house so much and already feel totally at home.  Today we are back on line - so now in touch once again with the rest of the world!!  We moved in last Friday week - during the evening.  As you can see, the first piece of furniture to arrive was the dresser we had found in the local charity warehouse.  Second the brilliant battered old leather sofa we found for £40.  It's very comfortable but needs some feet!!  Last week was non stop and between us Emma and I have painted three bedrooms, done various removals from different parts of Sussex, re-housed numerous animals and children - built beds, installed kitchen equipment - arranged tvs, broadband etc etc (Em has done most of the organising.....I have just gone along with the flow!!) and even entertained family for a good sized meal (partly cooked on a camping stove).  I shan't be getting my shed for a while because we have to prepare the ground surface - but it will arrive during the summer.  So all in all, a  busy and hectic time, but such a thrill the whole thing.  The best bit is when I am busy doing nothing in particular, I get a call saying "dinner's ready!!"  I wonder how long that will last??  As you can see, I have now sorted out all wools etc. so must soon get going on the creative bit..........x

Signs of Spring?????? Looking at this gorgeous tree over the weekend reminded me of balmy days when we could really enjoy our countryside.   There were promising comments on today's weather forecast.......and there are certainly promising signs in my heart today as  I MOVE...at long last....into my new home.  Can't believe the day has come......when I get the keys in my hand I shall do a war dance.  Until then - I shall keep cool.    I'll be unable to blog for a few days until we get the new broadband set up - but I shall be back .... no doubt surrounded by bags, boxes and the inevitable wool!  Enjoy the weekend and I shall be back next week x

I'm finishing things off before the big move TOMORROW ...........   sooooooo excited - can't wait.  I'm celebrating today by going to the dentist!!  I shall also be packing and de-cluttering my room of 4 months at my friend's house.  In many ways I look back at this interlude and realise what a great time I've had.  I've had a lot of laughs and also support in the low times and shall never forget all the love and kindness that has surrounded me.  After tomorrow I shall be off line for a few days - then I shall be back and raring to go.....I've also started a new on-line course so am hoping to share that journey with you.  Have a good day x

On Easter Monday we had a very happy visit to the sheep farm to watch the lambing.  I suppose it's not really surprising that I love sheep as I do spend so much time with their fleece!!  Birth is always a miracle, and to see these lambs being born is such a privilege.  The little fella on the top seems to be enjoying life and was very interested in us!!  I always get rather carried away when I am around animals, and was fantasising about having sheep in my garden - which is about 2ft square!!  Oh well, for the time being I'd better settle for my dogs and cats ± hamster ± fish............................

An exceedingly good Easter cake, made by my daughter, and enjoyed by all!  I also really like the poster which I noticed in a cafe up in Derbyshire....how true is that.  One thing for sure - I do love life!  Enjoy your day x

Well, here she is......my new granddaughter, Olivia.  I went up to snowy Derbyshire to meet her - and she is gorgeous (although I admit I'm slightly biased!!)  Once in my arms, I was switched back to the whole maternal bit - rubbing the back, winding, rocking, jiggling etc. etc.  It does seem to come very naturally.  I think my d-in-l was wishing I lived a whole lot nearer ..... and so was I.  It's hard when a distance separates you - particularly from the children.  Still, never mind, I managed to see all three of my offspring plus 4 out of 5 grandchildren this week, so I am happy.  The snow further north was stunning.  I've never seen such depth before, but oh my....the sadness of all the body bags in the fields was absolutely heart-wrenching.  Thousands of sheep have been buried in the snow - unbearable.  Today is Easter Sunday however - and I always feel there is hope of new life and things to come...which reminds me, I am supposed to moving into my new house this week....................HAPPY EASTER!

I'm fascinated with the way these roots hang and form an amazing pattern....similarly I nearly always prefer the rough side of a weaving.  Maybe I'm just a messy person!!  Mind you, I have to say I have been quite organised in my temporary room during the last four months. It's a lesson for me in that I realise how little you need to own to enjoy life.  Having said that, I can't wait to get all my arty things back....and really get going again.  It will be some time before `I get my shed erected and all the other things we need to do - but at least we'll have a home.............!
