I am now almost ready for the Art Trail....so, this afternoon I got my bags together and went off to the beach for a photo shoot!!  I really enjoyed myself and am pleased with the results.  Here are some of the photos...(I can feel another book coming on!!)

Scenes from my evening dog walk....it's amazing how nature restore's the balance - after the winter storms, the sea seemed so calm.  Talking about calm - I am feeling calmly confident that I now have sufficient stock ready for the Brighton Art Trail next week.  This week I shall get everything packed up and ready.  I'm really looking forward to it and meeting you all!  Have a good day x

I've just come in from my morning dog walk.....the blossom is so gorgeous, so more pics!  These will keep me going in the long, dark winter days.  In the meantime I'm enjoying the long, light days!!!

I'm working out different ways of displaying things for the Brighton Art Trail.  I want to try something different so I'm playing around with different ideas.  Every time I do any sort of show, I always spend hours planning it - and then usually end up doing much the same thing as before!!!  Oh well, it keeps me happy!

The Easter weekend is here...the sun is shining...and I hope you all have a good and peaceful time.  To me, Easter is always a time of new life and hope....and of course cakes!!

I'm definitely feeling like the cat that had the cream......my granddaughter has just treated me to a cake-to-die-for in my all-time favourite restaurant!  Yum....it was the most exquisite warmed rhubarb and raspberry sponge with clotted cream!  To say it was good is an understatement!  The thought of it will keep me going for days............(I promise I will show some creative stuff soon - but this week I have been busy enjoying a fabulous Spring!!!)

Once again I seem to have subconsciously played with colours that are around me.   I'm fascinated to see how the colour composition of the bottom photo have picked up the tub of flowers outside my art hut!!  Obviously something's going on somewhere inside my head!!

Sunday, 6 April 2014

As you can see, I did have a painting day yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in paint and dye.  This is the first time I have really been able to enjoy my little art shed, as last year we were surrounded by builders etc....and then in the winter it was too cold.  So now is the time, and it's working very well. I particularly like being able to close the gate to stop dogs swarming around when the dye pots are bubbling.  It also prevents getting multi-coloured animals!!!

I seem to have done a lot of train journeys recently so have had time to crochet.  I find it easier than knitting on a train - less likely to poke someone's eye out!  Here you can see that I have cut strips of my dyed muslin. It's fun to do ..... not sure about the results yet, but I'll keep on playing!  Today it's all systems go - I have been told what space I can have at the Brighton Open Houses Art Trail (Diva House on the Seven Dials Trail) and it's really good.  So I must now make sure I have things to display!!  Have a good day x
