The beginnings of a new weaving...I am experimenting with different shapes - so we shall see....!  I have been very busy this week helping out with my daughter's dog business as she is away in New York.  I was wondering why I was losing weight but if I bothered to count it up I must have walked MILES  and MILES!!! Oh well, Im sure it is keeping me fit.  Oh for some hours to sit and spin and weave......

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while....life seems to take over!  Last week was spent seeing family and friends in Derbyshire.  We stayed in this gorgeous little cottage - and very quickly felt at home.  I had even taken my spinning wheel!  Amongst other things, we visited a favourite second-hand bookshop but didn't actually buy anything!  On returning home I have managed to finish a small tapestry (and start a new one) and here are some pics to show that I am not the only one obsessed with fibre!!

My brain seems to be storing up lots of scrumptious images....with the promise of producing some amazing artwork.  I have been extremely busy making and selling recently but not pushing my creative boundaries to produce that extra special 'Something'...I'm clearly have a motivation crisis....help!

I still return to spinning and weaving as my most relaxing and therapeutic activity...it must be to do with the repetitive nature but I go into a sort of trance!!  I really should do it more often.....

Ive got this idea buzzing around in my head that I want to do a project on 'growth'......perhaps paper weave...then printed/dyed papers to make a book...???  Keeps my mind busy - anyway I took these pics yesterday in a friend's garden to give me a kick start!!
