I confess I haven't taken many photographs recently so I have picked these out of my photo library.....I always love to see lots of fruit and vegetables displayed. Somehow they're never as exciting when you buy them and take them home .... they definitely need to be surrounded by their mates!!! What an amazing design source they are - do I feel more artwork coming on?? I have recently been catching up on some making. I'm trying to get the left hand working - it's doing ok but I would like it to do better. I guess I just have to learn patience!!

The first signs of Spring! I know it's a bit of a way off yet - but it is so exciting to see the new life appearing....and to know it's all ahead of us! Today I have done more swimming and a tiny bit of driving....so things are definitely on the up. I've also managed to do some sewing - there's no stopping me!

Yesterday I enjoyed a great walk in Shoreham.....there's always something to look at by the sea! Today has been a red letter day!! First of all I was a very proud Granny...seeing my grandson in his passing out parade after having completed his initial army training. He looked fantastic (but I am a bit biased!). Then....wait for it....when we got home I suddenly decided to try the gear stick in my precious car....and guess what? I could move it and managed to drive 100 yards up the road and then park. I can't believe my wrist is getting strong so quickly. I'm sure the swimming helps and I have been doing exercises. But the physio did say I was a model patient.................

When I was at a friend's house the other day I couldn't stop taking pictures of these gorgeous, faded roses. I always think there's something particularly lovely about roses that are gradually dying.....in fact dried roses are my favourite. I am slowly coming back to life and getting the arm working. The break has badly affected my hand which is a nuisance to say the least. I was so excited to do some knitting yesterday only to end up with a rather inflamed, swollen hand. I guess I need to be patient! I have done lots of swimming and exercises, so I'm on the up!!

Today was glorious.....the sun shone non-stop so we made the most of it. The dogs had a great time - after being given strict instructions that they must not knock people over! As you can see, Jack spent a lot of time hanging around.....after lunch I took myself off to the pier - I always pretend I'm on a ship (sad I know, but keeps me happy). Well - tomorrow my plaster cast comes off. Can't wait to get an arm back x

I've finally finished my sketchbook, and here is the finished object. I shall always remember this one as the 'broken arm' therapy production!! My plaster comes off next week, so the physio and hard work will begin. It's almost (but not quite) worth being disabled for a bit in order to experience the excited anticipation of 'wellness' ahead. Today, after our knit 'n natter group lunch - which was great - I have managed to do some stitching and cutting...so things are slowly returning to some sort of normality. Of course, the biggest thrill will be when I can once again drive my little car, which has sat patiently waiting for me for the last two months!!

I've just got home and couldn't resist showing you the wonderful sunset....I thought I would miss it and was willing the bus to hurry up so that I could get a picture before the sun finally set. I just about got there!! The sea was the most amazing translucent, ice-blue......nature is truly amazing x

And the storms keep coming.......this morning I walked along by the beach and was fascinated to see how portions of the beach had been swept up on to the pathways...huge waves and winds...and did you see that a huge part of the cliff collapsed at Hastings just along the coast. I feel so sorry for all those whose homes are flooded and am so grateful to be to have a warm and dry house.

I'm trying to complete my sketchbook so simply painted some strips of watercolour and stood the book upright so it all dripped!! I love the unexpected (another way of saying that I am not good at planning and painting to order....!). So New Year is now here....as usual I'm full of good intentions. I have made sure I've eaten fruit every day at breakfast (!) and once I'm mended I shall look forward to swimming. However I can walk so I'm now off for a walk along the sea front......
