Finally I am starting a new coat. I'm not going to rush this one but plan to savour the weaving process. It is going to be based on the Arts and Crafts movement (in theory) and a lot of the weaving will be in tapestry style - so will take ages! Every time I look at the loom, it feels as though it is an artist's ease.l....!! Well, it keeps me happy. Today a group of us demonstrated spinning/weaving at a local heritage working museum. It's a fascinating place and brilliant to see some of the traditional crafts in action....there is also a steam train, together with old buses, steam roller traction engines etc. A real trip into history......Sunday, 6 December 2015

I spotted this bike in a charming little display outside a florist's shed...couldn't resist taking a photo! As you can see, I had a rather a mad moment and splashed water colour on to my journal pages. No idea what it's supposed to be - but I shall add to it and see what happens. My latest woven piece has just come off the loom. This has a linen warp and so far it feels fine. I shall know definitely when it has dried after being washed....I'm pleased with the reds as they certainly help to cheer up dark days. Having said that look at the beautiful morning we had yesterday...fabulous to know that the sun is still up there!!!Sunday, 22 November 2015
You can tell that Christmas is coming when you visit London! The window displays were amazing..........I simply love all the reds and greens.....strange that these are the colours that I am weaving at the moment. We went to an incredible show in the West End called The Illusionists...I really do recommend it - an evening of pure fantasy and enjoyment! As much as I love London, its good to get back to the open space of the south coast. The weather yesterday was pretty awful - I nearly got blown over by the incredibly strong wind!! Today has been lovely and finally I was able to dog walk up on the Downs before coming home and doing some.....guess what?? ....weaving! Have a good week xMonday, 16 November 2015

Even in this dull November it is possible to find beauty.....I think these roses are glorious. They stand there valiantly battling the remains of hurricane Abigail.....bless them. Needless to say, I have been weaving this week.. This piece turned out shorter than anticipated but I have just measured it and and it is big enough to make the front of a new coat....so much to my surprise, I am over halfway through my next piece of wearable art!!! As I said in my previous blog entry, I have just opened my Etsy shop and plan to put things in as and when they are complete.....but my mind is also on a couple of exhibitions that are due to take place next year. I am thinking of Art Nouveau designs. This week I am going to London for a couple of days and shall try and fit in a visit to the V & A. I'm sure I'll get some inspiration there!.. Have a good week everybody xhttps://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/fibrefrenziweave?ref=hdr_shop_menu
